So, my mom thinks I should have no more than 3 bridesmaids (including my maid of honor). I would like to have 4 or 5, but she is the one paying or the wedding. Since it is only 3, my fiance and I have agreed that we would have his sister at the guest book and my brother as an usher (my brother is fine with this idea). My fiance's mother is assuming that his sister is a bridesmaid (she has already asked when she can try on dress) even though we haven't officially asked her to be in it. I'm just not sure how to go about telling her and her mother that she will not be in the wedding. Does anyone have any ideas or even suggestions on how to handle the situation?? I would LOVE to have 4 or 5, but my mom thinks too many people in the wedding party makes it look more like a "show" than a ceremony. She wants it very formal..
